Company Update | By Niall Brennan, COO & Co-Founder of LiveCosts
New York, NY – Last week, my brother Ciaran Brennan and I, representing our company LiveCosts, embarked on an exciting journey to the city that never sleeps. We were fortunate to attend an event hosted by the “Digital Irish” organisation, and I must say, it was a game-changer for us in terms of exploring the US market.
LiveCosts, a construction cost tracking software tailored for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), had always been considering the possibility of entering the US market. However, the event we attended in New York last week opened our eyes to the tremendous potential this market holds for our software. It was an eye-opening experience that left us inspired and enthusiastic about the opportunities that lie ahead.
The event was a comprehensive showcase of essential aspects for any European company considering expansion into the United States. Topics covered included US employment law, visa requirements for doing business in the US, and the significance of storytelling in the American business landscape. Each of these discussions provided us with invaluable insights into how to navigate the complex US market.
One of the most enlightening aspects of the event was the perspective it offered on how European companies like LiveCosts are viewed in the US. The event allowed us to understand the unique challenges and opportunities that European businesses face when expanding into the American market. It was reassuring to learn that there is a genuine interest in the innovative solutions that European companies can bring to the table.
Networking was a significant highlight of the event. We had the pleasure of connecting with around 20 other startups in a similar position to ourselves. The exchange of ideas and experiences was truly remarkable, and it provided an excellent platform for us to grow our professional network. The camaraderie and shared aspirations of these entrepreneurs were inspiring and motivating.
One of the most promising aspects of our trip was the opportunity to speak with investors interested in the construction space. These conversations were exciting and filled us with optimism for what the future holds for LiveCosts in the US market. It was clear that our software, tailored for construction cost tracking in SMBs, had the potential to disrupt the market in the best possible way.
In conclusion, our visit to New York for the “Digital Irish” event was nothing short of a revelation for Livecosts. The event exposed us to a wealth of knowledge, valuable connections, and a deeper understanding of how our software can fit seamlessly into the US market. We return to Ireland with our eyes firmly set on the American dream, confident that LiveCosts is well-positioned to make a significant impact in the construction industry stateside. We invite everyone to watch this space as we embark on this exciting journey towards US expansion.
