What problems were you trying to solve before LiveCosts?
Before LiveCosts, TSG did not have the budget control. We could easily see the budget on a physical format which other people can see like Account Directors and Quantity Surveyors. That was our main problem that we wanted to resolve.
How did LiveCosts help overcome your challenges?
LiveCosts allowed us to easily breakdown projects into different phases so it shows clearly if one phase was doing well or if it was being under budgeted or over budgeted. Moving to other projetcs, we know that we would have to look at that particular phase a bit more which has helped us with future project bids and winning more work. Also, allowing to send purchase orders as well. We have them stored and they are easily accessible.
How did LiveCosts help benefit your business?
The ease of getting an invoice in your hands and uploading that to LiveCosts and being able to prove it where it matches up using the software where it reads the invoice and makes our life as a Quantity Surveyor a lot easier. It does most for you and it is just a case of match up two numbers.

Would you recommend LiveCosts to other companies?
100%! Definitely!. The main benefit is the budget for us. Anyone that has a medium to large business should use LiveCosts as it is going to help them. We have multiple projects and a team of 6 people where one can easily see what everyone is doing and in what areas. You can see trends and obviously, purchase orders where it be paid outstanding which helps if monthly occurs costs. This is why I would recommend LiveCosts.
How much time has LiveCosts saved your company?
It’s difficult to estimate. I wouldn’t want to try and put it down to days. I mean, as I said, our business has grown exponentially. So, there’s been considerable growth and the number of projects we complete on an annual basis has increased significantly. Certainly for us, it has been beneficial and it has brought about a time saving and a level of control that we didn’t have in the business two, three years ago.
How has LiveCosts impacted your business?
One of the main reason is providing accurate bids. We use that information from LiveCosts where we have done business previously. We put a bid whether we need to under or overprice phases and that is obviously, helped us save some costs and puts us in a competitive advantage as we can price it better and we are more likely to win the job then.
